Ray Ford of Solar Turbines will present at the 2017 3D Collaboration & Interoperability Congress. 3D CIC and the Quality Information Framework Symposium will be held in Golden, Colorado on October 3-5, 2017.
Presentation
Gaining MBD Experience the Right Way
How to know where to start with MBD? Don’t have all the answers? To be honest, neither do we! In this presentation, Ray will demonstrate how Solar is using real world pilot successes to gain experience in MBD. He will show what prerequisites needed to be in place to start down the MBD path. Lastly, he will cover Solar’s strategy to continually identify pilot candidates and help plot the course for a robust enterprise MBD future.
Presenter
Ray Ford has over 35 years experience in the CAD industry. He started in 1981 as a board draftsman and quickly worked into 2D/3D CAD modeling of mechanical parts and assemblies. Ray started at Solar Turbines in 1992 as a design layout “CAD jockey” using CADDS 4. He was trained in Pro/Engineer version 12 in 1994. He was then hired into the CAD administrative group. He has been involved in enterprise implementations of Pro/Intralink and then migration into Windchill. He is a 6 Sigma Black Belt and been trained in Lean Engineering & Manufacturing methodology. He is currently an Engineering Group Manager responsible for CAD Modeling Methods and Standards. 3D CIC + QIF Symposium
The 3D Collaboration & Interoperability Congress featuring the Quality Information Symposium focuses on 3D CAD collaboration and interoperability for the entire product lifecycle. With the 2017 theme of UNITE: Engineering & Shop Floor Collaboration, real users share their experiences with turning design concepts into manufacturing product reality using 3D models. The joint 3D CIC and QIF Symposium event will be held October 3-5, 2017 at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, Colorado. Find out more and register for 3D CIC + QIF Symposium at 3dcic.com.
