Kevin Sari of Signode Industrial will present at the 2017 3D Collaboration & Interoperability Congress. 3D CIC and the Quality Information Framework Symposium will be held in Golden, Colorado on October 3-5, 2017.
Presentation
The 3D Revolution: Just Another CAPEX?
- All capital projects require a certain amount of planning and buy-in, but when you turn “everyone’s” world from 2D to 3D, from the engineer to the operator, there’s much gnashing of teeth, nay-saying and, quite simply, fear of doing things differently.
- Top Management must take the long view, understand it’s just not another CAPEX and lead from the front, or the organization will fail in this difficult endeavor. Project planning, resourcing people, hardware, and time, and following the “rules” are important steps. However, most importantly, VPs down to department managers must lead from the front.
- This presentation will take you through one company’s lessons learned in what can happen if the up-front leadership, research, planning, and resourcing are handled like “Just Another CAPEX.”
Presenter
Kevin Sari has over 28 years of experience in leading teams — quality assurance (QA), continuous integration (CI), manufacturing and, most recently, innovation engineering. He started his career in the US Army in Germany as an Infantry Officer. After serving on active duty, Kevin started his manufacturing career at General Electric, where he served as a Production Coordinator, Manager of Shop Operations, and Quality Manager producing magnet wire and DC electric motors. In 2005, he moved to the defense industry with DRS Technologies, serving as a Program Manager, Quality Engineer, and Quality Director where they engineered to build HVAC systems, specialty trailers, and shelters. This year, Kevin moved to Signode Industrial, where he works with his plant team members to bring modern manufacturing processes and equipment to a mature plant that converts plastic #2 PET bottles into packaging strap (yes, it’s very cool!). Kevin retired from the military in 2010, has BS (Geology) and MBA degrees, and has Six Sigma, Lean, and Innovation certifications.
3D CIC + QIF Symposium
The 3D Collaboration & Interoperability Congress featuring the Quality Information Symposium focuses on 3D CAD collaboration and interoperability for the entire product lifecycle. With the 2017 theme of UNITE: Engineering & Shop Floor Collaboration, real users share their experiences with turning design concepts into manufacturing product reality using 3D models. The joint 3D CIC and QIF Symposium event will be held October 3-5, 2017 at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, Colorado. Find out more and register for 3D CIC + QIF Symposium at 3dcic.com.
