Product Structure and Meta-Modeling: The Final Frontier
Product structure philosophy, data/meta-modeling, and managing variance.
Maintaining product structure can be a daunting task. But, when you understand the benefits, it far outweighs the effort. The product structure and the metadata behind it are the framework upon which reusability is leveraged and in order to reduce risk and the amount of time spent churning between design phases, a solid data model is imperative. This presentation will cover the philosophy of product structure, the digital transformation to using metadata, and why it is crucial for data integrity to maintain a robust metamodel. The goal will be to relieve the apprehension users have to maintenance by showing how to intuitively train the masses.
