A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words…An Animation is Worth a Million Bucks by Myon Caruthers, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies
Model-Based Animations are recognized more and more as a key tool for clearly communicating complex work instructions enabling higher quality and efficiency on the factory floor.
The standard method for communicating assembly instructions to the factory floor is to convert multi-sheet 2D engineering drawings into 2D visuals with comprehensive instructional text. As product assembly complexity increases, clearly communicating higher levels of detail in the work instruction become more difficult and makes the 2D work instruction inadequate. Consequently, Model-Based Animations are recognized more and more as a key tool for clearly communicating complex work instructions enabling higher quality and efficiency on the factory floor. This presentation will look at the key benefits of applying 3D model-based solutions as well as give a focused look at Honeywell FM&T’s journey to mature capabilities and capture ROI for Model-Based Animation implementation.
