Serious challenges require serious change. This, Bob Deragisch would know: he has been working the benefits and challenges of the digital thread using 3D models for over 8 years in Parker Hannifin’s Aerospace Group. His organization sits right smack in the middle of a complex supply chain in the aerospace, automotive, and many more mechanical hardware industries. Managing engineering changes is a critical step for Parker Hannifin’s business strategy.
TANSTAAFL (somebody has to pay), but who? Now, multiply by 40, divide by the square root of the parts on the bill of materials, add the platform model number, and make it lighter!
Mr. Deragisch will deliver the keynote address, “Managing Change Using Models in an Ever-Changing Supply Chain,” at the 3D Collaboration and Interoperability Congress (3D CIC) in Washington, DC on October 29, 2015. He will discuss where Parker Hannifin fits in the supply chain, what drives the engineering changes, and understanding that one size does not fit all because each program has unique challenges and the technology is rapidly marching forward.

Bio: Bob Deragisch is employed by Parker Aerospace (over 35 years), and is currently the Aerospace Group’s Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Services. In addition, Bob is the Enterprise Architect for the Group, responsible for acquisition, implementation, deployment and support of all engineering tools and processes, and integration of all business systems, across the $US 2.3 billion operating segment of Parker-Hannifin. Bob is also the director of eBusiness initiatives for the Group, with an emphasis on collaboration with customers, suppliers, and partners. Bob received his Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University in California, after his undergraduate work in Math, Physics, Computer Science, and Organizational Development. In April 2014, Bob was elected President of COE, the independent user group of Dassault Systèmes solutions in North America. That same week, Bob was also awarded membership in the COE College of Fellows.
In April 2015, Bob received the Joe Greco Community Award from the CAD Society, in recognition of his many years of tireless efforts to bring benefits to not only Parker Aerospace, but the entire COE community through interaction with other user groups and industry leaders. Bob is also a founding member of ASSESS (Analysis, Simulation & System Engineering Software Strategy), focused on “Expanding the use and benefit of Model Based Simulation, Analysis and Systems Engineering”. See the ASSESS home on LinkedIn for more information. Married for over 37 years, Bob and his wife, Debbie, live approximately 5 miles from the home where Bob grew up in Orange County, California. They have two grown children – an airline pilot and a high school teacher – an incredible grandson and “brand new” beautiful granddaughter.
