If your organization is taking the next step and investigating automated inspection using the Renishaw EquatorTM, then come to the Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium booth (#E-5000) at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) on September 12-16, 2016. See firsthand how an MBD-enabled model is used in a “hands-off” automated inspection process.
Using a QIF-enabled format, the design to manufacturing through inspection process is automated. This is the first time that quality organizations have the opportunity to contribute to cost savings. This video provides a glimpse into what we will demonstrate at IMTS 2016.
2016 IMTS QIF Interoperability Demonstration from Metrosage
Alongside Capvidia, Metrosage, IPI, Mitutoyo, Kotem, InspectionXpert, Origin International, and the DMSC Board of Directors, Jennifer Herron of Action Engineering will present the QIF-enabled automated inspection work flow at IMTS 2016 in Chicago. We will put the QIF bracket through this automated inspection process.

If you are ready to evolve, rather than dissolve, find out from the experts how the ANSI standard QIF can enable your digital enterprise.
What is QIF?
Quality Information Framework is an American National Standard supporting Digital Thread concepts in engineering applications ranging from product design through manufacturing to quality inspection. QIF defines, organizes, and associates quality information including measurement plans, results, part geometry and PMI, measurement templates, resources, and statistical analysis. As a unified XML framework standard for computer-aided quality measurement systems, QIF enables the capture, use, and re-use of metrology-related information throughout the PLM/PDM domain.
What is DMSC?
The mission of Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium is to identify urgently needed standards in the field of dimensional metrology, and to promote, foster, and encourage the development and interoperability of these standards, along with related and supporting standards that will benefit the industry as a whole. The Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS) and the Quality Information Framework (QIF) are two such standards that the consortium has the responsibility to continue development, maintain and support as well as to coordinate and harmonize with other related standards efforts.
What is IMTS?
The International Manufacturing Technology Show is one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world, featuring more than 2,000 exhibiting companies. The event is held every two years in September at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. This year’s event will be held September 12-17, 2016.
