Global Product Data Interoperablity Summit – September 18-21, 2023
The presentation is during the Standards track at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20th.
Abstract:
To unlock the future of the Manufacturing Digital Twin (MDT), both the Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial organizations must embrace the power of consistent, repeatable, and automatable engineering data that is truly useful to users.
This endeavor is made possible through the collaborative efforts of esteemed standards organizations at both national and international levels, tirelessly working towards achieving seamless, interoperable data exchange.
Jennifer Herron
In this presentation, we unveil four capabilities of 3D Model-Based Definition (MBD) within Technical Data Packages (TDPs). Each capability represents a distinct use case, accompanied by a comprehensive exploration of the associated benefits and measurable metrics. What sets these use cases apart is their adherence to the rigorous standards set by influential bodies such as ASME, ISO, MIL-STD, MTConnect, and QIF.
We bring these four high-value manufacturing scenarios to life, demonstrating the power and potential of standards-compliant 3D MBD TDPs in action. Using interoperability specialized software tools, we show how the future of manufacturing is being shaped through this achievable approach through:
1. Design Review
2. Quality Planning
3. Interactive and Automatically Generated Parts List
4. Engineering Changes for Fabricators and Inspectors
Action Engineering is a sponsor at GPDIS 2023
We are excited to be part of the 2023 summit and would love to meet-up and connect in person during our time in town. Head on over to booth #316 or schedule a time with Jennifer Herron, CEO/Founder, Dan Feighery, MBD Expert Trainer & Coach, or Carey Barnes, Director of Growth who all will be in attendance.

Panel Discussion – Model-Based Engineering vs. Model-Based Enterprise
Time & Date: 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 20th.
About the panel: There is some ambiguity in the terms “Model Based Engineering” and “Model Based Enterprise”. This panel will bring together experienced professionals from Boeing, Parker Hannifin, other solution providers to discuss the differences and how the concepts are employed in industry.
