The Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) is geared up and ready for the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago on September 12-17, 2016. DMSC is hosting Quality Information Framework (QIF) demonstrations at the DMSC booth (#E-5000). Jennifer Herron of Action Engineering, a member company of DMSC, will emcee these daily demonstrations. Stop by Booth #E-5000 in the East Building at McCormick Place to find out more about QIF.
Find out how you can protect your investment by wrapping your data in quality. Use the QIF format to specify, plan, measure, and report inspection requirements.

“Quality is a Requirement — make it Easier with the QIF”
What is QIF?
Quality Information Framework is an American National Standard supporting Digital Thread concepts in engineering applications ranging from product design through manufacturing to quality inspection. QIF defines, organizes, and associates quality information including measurement plans, results, part geometry and PMI, measurement templates, resources, and statistical analysis. As a unified XML framework standard for computer-aided quality measurement systems, QIF enables the capture, use, and re-use of metrology-related information throughout the PLM/PDM domain.
What is DMSC?
The mission of Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium is to identify urgently needed standards in the field of dimensional metrology, and to promote, foster, and encourage the development and interoperability of these standards, along with related and supporting standards that will benefit the industry as a whole. The Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS) and the Quality Information Framework (QIF) are two such standards that the consortium has the responsibility to continue development, maintain and support as well as to coordinate and harmonize with other related standards efforts.
What is IMTS?
The International Manufacturing Technology Show is one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world, featuring more than 2,000 exhibiting companies. The event is held every two years in September at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
