Our very own Jennifer Herron garners the much-deserved spotlight in the latest installment of the SOLIDWORKS Women in Engineering Series!
Jennifer’s recognition article discusses the beginnings of her interest in engineering and later starting her own business. Although she founded Action Engineering in 2003, model-based topics became her focus more recently, in 2010, before Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) were “the thing.” Her left-brain/right-brain balance drives her to creatively apply her engineering expertise, staying relevant with the quickly changing model-based world.
One of Jennifer’s biggest lessons she has learned from her career is “to be adaptive and to flip the challenging problem upside down because once you do that, you’ll see a different perspective. Then you’ll start kicking in the creative brain of engineering, and you can solve it.”
When Jennifer left her career designing hardware in the aerospace and defense industry to build Action Engineering, little did she know how her company would evolve into what it is today, or that she would add author and now SOLIDWORKS Women in Engineering recognition to her list of accomplishments.
Way to go, Jennifer! We’re excited to see what the future brings.
