Thanks for your response, it's great to see people engaging with this important term! Terminology is definitely one of the challenges in making these big sea change transitions, and the more we reflect critically on them as a community, the better the transitions can be communicated and implemented.

Just watched the hackathon. I was not able to submit because my CAD software is unable to annotate the way that was needed to properly define the designs. Excellent review by the presenters. The functional approach in datum feature assignment as opposed to Inspection view of datums was a highlight for me. Thank you for the hackathon. Please do more of these type of events. Looking forward to Sigmetrix tolerance analysis of the design. Some comments on the proposed solution. How practical is the position callout of secondary datum feature B back to A? Would a parallel callout have been more practical since there are not enough reference for an origin of measurement. I can see position for a tertiary datum feature in this case. Also one of the proposed models had a radius with tolerances directly called out. Since a radius is not a feature of size, having no opposed ends to reliably generate an axis, I would have expected a basic radius dimension and profile tolerance back to the DRF to control its variation. Great session overall
